Expansive Fantasy adds three new biomes as well as adding dragons, wyverns, orcs, and magic.
Each biome has its own wyvern, while the dragons are found in the extreme hills biome. Each biome also has its own soil, stone, and special blocks: volcanic block, curved froststone, and nested rack. These blocks are used to hatch their respective wyvern types.
Dragon eggs hatch on a composite block and take twice as long to hatch. The composite block is crafted with 3 of each special block.
The most important blocks are the forms of dracolyte ore, which can be found by deeply mining in any of these biomes. The three variations of dracolyte are fire, ice, and poison dracolyte.
Dracolyte ore can be processed by a stone cutter to get dracolyte.
A Dracolyte Forge allows you to combine dracolyte and iron ingots to form different elemental metals. And a blast furnace turns dracolyte into crystals.
Use elemental metals from the dracolyte forge (e.g fire or poison ingot) to make dragon armor and wyvern armor. Note that this needs a recipe, which is gotten from orc trade.
Combining dracolyte crystals with a potion of healing while crafting will give you three unique buff items: igniside, terronit, and cyrilite. Each gives absorption V for three minutes, while igniside also gives Fire Resistance V, terronit gives Jump Boost V, and cyrilite gives Speed V.
Magic
When you kill wyverns, dragons, or griffins, you can loot their body and gain essence. Essence can be used to make magic staffs and mana candy. The dragon claw with two sticks can make a code spear, a powerful thrown weapon.
Magic staffs can shoot out their element of magic, and when your mana is depleted mana candy wil restore it.
Last but not least, many items need the “item recipe” gotten from the orc trade. This includes many weapons, dragon armor and wyvern armor.
Angler Fish are found deep the the ocean, and are hostile to players. Giving a raw angler fish to an unarmed orc will allow you to initiate the orc trade. Once orc trade is initiated, you can also pay the orc to mine for you and give him a pickaxe to mine.
Armed Orcs cannot be traded with and are hostile to players.
Taming
Dragons and wyverns can be tamed by salmon, after they are hatched. To breed dragons use golden apples. Dragons which are tamed can be saddled, and will shoot fire balls when using a blaze rod. The sea serpent and angler fish cannot be tamed, however.
Last but not least is the Pegasus, which is a passive mob. To tame it, you need to sneak and feed it golden carrots.
You can saddle a pegasus, as well as putting a chest on them for extra inventory. Like dragons and wyverns, they can fly. Instead of salmon, they eat wheat or apples to heal.
A pegasus can also be killed for pegasus feathers to make wings, but they currently don’t work. You can use elytras and fireworks instead.
